Ergonomics
Ergonomics can be defined as fitting the job to the worker. The goal of ergonomics is to enhance the worker's comfort, health and productivity. Health related sickness and absence is a real issue for national productivity. Costing in excess of £3.8 billion per annum, it is estimated that more than 4.9 million working days are lost each year in the UK
(2005 www.hse.gov.uk/sicknessabsence).
